Data Center Finder for Claude and ChatGPT

Search U.S. colocation facilities, compare them and see budgetary pricing without leaving your AI assistant. It runs on the same facility data and pricing guidance as this site.

What it does

Data Center Finder is an app for AI assistants, built by Colocation Scout. You describe a deployment in plain words. The assistant uses the app to answer from our facility database and pricing guidance.

  • Search facilities. Find buildings in a U.S. market, state or radius that appear to fit your power, rack count, density, connectivity or certification needs. Each result says why it appears to fit and what still needs confirmation.
  • See one facility in detail. Location, building size, stated power, and the facts we do not know.
  • Compare facilities. Two to six buildings side by side. The app lists facts. It does not pick a winner.
  • Estimate a budget. A budgetary range per kW per month for your market and size, with its assumptions.
  • Ask us to check. If you want, send your requirement to Colocation Scout. We check current availability and pricing with providers.

Searches, comparisons and budget questions do not ask who you are. The app needs no account and no sign-in.

How to add it to Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Data Center Finder and paste this address: https://mcp.colocationscout.com/mcp
  4. Save. No sign-in is needed. Start a new chat and ask a colocation question.

Claude Code users can also install it as a plugin. The plugin adds a short guide that keeps answers within the rules on this page.

Things to ask

  • Find likely colocation facilities for 200 kW in Phoenix.
  • What is a reasonable budgetary range for 100 kW of colocation in Denver?
  • Compare data centers around Dallas for a 20-rack deployment.
  • I need 500 kW in Northern Virginia. What still needs provider confirmation?

What the results mean

A result is a building that appears to fit, based on what is known about it. It is not a claim that space is available. Operators do not publish what is free, so no database can tell you that. Our verification policy explains the difference.

When a power figure appears, it is the building's stated or design capability. Unknown values are shown as unknown, never as "no." A budgetary range is guidance drawn from quotes we have reviewed. It is not a quote. Real pricing moves with term, density, redundancy and the provider, and only a provider can confirm it.

Asking us to check availability and pricing

The assistant may mention once that we can check current availability and pricing for you. Nothing is sent unless you choose it. If you say yes, a short form opens in the chat. It is prefilled with your market, power and timeline. You add your name, company and work email, with an optional phone number, and press Send yourself.

The form shows our disclosure above the Send button. Our service costs you nothing, and you pay the same price you would going direct. We may be paid by the provider you choose. Our compensation policy explains how that works and where it stops. You get a reference number, and a scout follows up.

If your assistant cannot show the form, it will ask for the same details in the chat instead.

Your information

The app never asks for passwords, payment details or government ID numbers. We receive search criteria such as market and power to answer the request. We keep only coarse counts of those requests, not your conversation. The privacy notice covers what we store when you send a request and how long we keep it.

If something does not work

  • A market is not recognized. Name a nearby metro, such as Dallas instead of a suburb.
  • The form does not appear. Say so in the chat. The assistant will take your details there.
  • A tool reports it is unavailable. Try again in a minute. If it keeps failing, contact us below.
  • No budget range comes back. We have no approved pricing guidance for that location yet. The assistant will say so rather than guess.
