Data center permit reports by market

Each quarter we report the filings to add data center capacity in one market at a time, from building permits and planning cases to state air permits. Every figure in a report links to the public record it came from, so any reader can check it.

Q3 2026

Dallas–Fort Worth data center permits (provisional)

Fort Worth filed both of the quarter's new data center buildings, and the biggest numbers elsewhere are approvals and declared values, not space anyone can lease.

Denver metro and Colorado Springs data center permits (provisional)

Aurora, where every Denver metro filing to add data center capacity was made, was the one council to reject a pause, 6-5 on 10 August with the mayor breaking the tie.

New York City data center permits (provisional)

No New York City data center is asking to connect to the state grid, and nobody filed to add capacity inside the city either: the one new building on file is a network hub.

New York tri-state data center permits (provisional)

Around New York City the quarter's story is local governments deciding whether to allow data centers at all, while Manhattan's carrier hotels replaced plant rather than adding floors.

A filing shows that someone plans to build, and it says nothing about whether space will be available to lease. How we publish these reports.
